In 2022, I travelled through the Tassili N'Ajjer national park with Tuareg guides. After days of roaming seventy-two thousand square kilometres of sand and stone, its grandeur penetrates your consciousness.

Around every corner lies a startling new arrangement of sand, sky, vegetation and rock, which I never tired of.

In the Sahara you are receiving a dose of what Jorge Luis Borges called ‘the wonder distilled from elementary things’.
